Social Sciences - Resources and Ideas
Recently we gave a talk (Burak and Fuz) in conjunction with Stephanie Tulley (Acting Interdisciplinary Research Collaboratory Director) at CITS regarding computational resources available to social scientists and others at UCSB. On this page we're going to list talks, software, and interesting links which may be of interest to social science researchers.
Software:
FLAME - Agent Based Modeling (currently installed on knot)
Rsimecol - originally an ecological system modeling package for R, also useful for Agent Based Modeling (also on knot)
Tesseract - OCR Software
Interesting Links:
American Time Use Survey Extract Builder - a nice example of using this is shown in this post.
