What kind of compute resource do I need?

Status
Yes

The CSC hosts several high performance computing (HPC) compute clusters.  That is, a collection of similar computers that can work on problems together.  They run the Linux operating system (rather than Windows or Mac OS-X), and are accessed via the command line.  If this is what you want, you can apply for an account on the CSC clusters here

If you need access for more of a graphical interface (such as R-studio, jupyterhub, etc.), there are some resources available via the National Research Platform, but there are also some locally at UCSB.

Take a look at the webpage https://rcd.ucsb.edu to find information about computing at UCSB, and feel free to contact us if you still aren't sure what kind of computing resources you need!
